Thrive | Inclusive Research Leadership

Thrive Symposium

This autumn, we are proud to host the Thrive Symposium, marking the culmination of Thrive - a two-year project dedicated to redefining how research teams operate.

Date: Tuesday, 9 September 2025
Venue: Hope Street Hotel, Liverpool, L1 9DA

Over the course of the project, the Thrive team has collaborated with a diverse group of stakeholders to co-develop a new team-convening model for collaborative, team-based research. This innovative approach is currently being piloted through a Mission funding opportunity with the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC).

The symposium offers a valuable opportunity for key stakeholders to engage with the outcomes and findings of the Thrive project through a programme of talks, presentations and panel discussions.

Event highlights

  • Thrive Project Overview: Gain an insight into the project's journey, highlights, and key achievements. This session will also outline the next steps and future ambitions for Thrive.
  • Presentations from Mission Awarded Projects: Hear directly from projects awarded Mission funding as they share their aims, experiences, and lessons learned through the application and delivery process. This will be followed by a panel discussion to encourage collaborative dialogue and knowledge exchange.
  • Panel Discussion with Research Leaders: A panel of respected leading stakeholders will discuss current issues and opportunities in the research community, with an open forum for audience contributions.

The event promises to be an enriching experience for all attendees, offering a platform for knowledge exchange and networking among stakeholders in the research community.
