The University of Liverpool’s prestigious five-year Fellowships, launched in 2023, are now inviting applications from early career researchers with innovative AI-focused research ideas that address one of the University’s five research frontiers.
The fellowships aim to recruit individuals from a wide range of backgrounds who have demonstrated excellence in research or innovation in their post-doctoral career to date, and have an original and compelling vision for harnessing the power of AI within research.
Along with two years of protected research time and bespoke career development support from The Academy, a permanent position at the University is also available when the tenure of the Fellowship ends.
AI is having a transformative effect on research, reshaping not just how we think, but how we explore, discover, and innovate. It's unlocking a new world of possibilities, enabling us to tackle global challenges with smarter, faster, and more sustainable solutions than ever before. By developing trustworthy AI and combining AI with our world-leading research strengths, the University is cultivating future research leaders, providing the time, resources, and collaborative environment needed to push the boundaries in fundamental AI research and deliver real world impact.
Applications are encouraged from the UK as well as from overseas. If you already hold a personal fellowship you are welcome to apply for a fellowship, but it is not a requirement for appointment.
