The QUASAR Group would like to extend a warm welcome to Alessandro Frasca, who joined the QUASAR Group in April 2023 to do research for his PhD program in affiliation with the University of Liverpool. He will be based at CERN and his work consists in a radiation study for the Future Circular Collider during electron-positron operation.

After his undergraduate studies, in 2016 Alessandro moved from Sicily to Milan to join Politecnico di Milano. Here he got his bachelor degree in Materials and Nanotechnology Engineering in July 2019, with a project dealing with atomic force microscopy of films and nanostructured surfaces.

He continued his studies at Politecnico di Milano attending the master degree in Nuclear Engineering and graduating in December 2022. He developed his master thesis project during a technical student program at CERN, where he studied the collisional losses in the Large Hadron Collider for Pb-Pb and p-Pb operation, via simulation tools and data analysis.
