Research Overview

I am involved in a number of projects in the institute, which draw on my expertise in using administrative data, software development and data privacy.

I am part of the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (Northwest Coast) working for Sarah Rodgers in the Care and Health Informatics cross cutting theme. In the ARC NWC the focus is on health inequalities in the region.

In HDRUK-North I am helping to build a risk prediction model based on the use of anticholinergic medications. This has involved working with the Connected Bradford data set, which is housed in a Google Big Query database.

As part of System-P I am helping to develop actionable analytics in healthcare for the region. This involves working with big data sets (billions of rows of SQL data) covering the local population.

In the GroundsWell project we aim to understand the impact urban green and blue space has on health and well being.

I have been involved in the DataSHIELD project for over a decade, offering my technical skills to help with the development of non-disclosive real-time federated analysis of health related data.
