Teaching
Pelvic Oncology & Late Effects of Radiotherapy
I currently lead the pelvic oncology module on the undergraduate radiotherapy programme, and teach colorectal and prostate oncology on both the undergraduate and postgraduate radiotherapy programmes. I am passionate about research-led teaching, therefore I embed findings from my own research on pelvic radiotherapy late effects and patient-reported outcomes into my learning materials, as well as wider research conducted in the field of pelvic oncology. I incorporate sessions delivered by oncology clinical professionals and patients to ensure students learn the most up to date clinical practice with a true appreciation of the patient experience, which will inform their future practice on clinical placements.
Interprofessional Learning
I am a facilitator for the interprofessional learning modules within the School of Health Sciences. This involves a range of sessions involving students from all professions within the School, whilst enhancing students' skills in teamwork, communication and problem-solving. I particularly enjoy sessions that include game-based elements, having recently completed an Action Research project on the use of "Gamification" within IPL sessions for my Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice, in collaboration with colleagues across the School of Health Sciences.
