Teaching
I teach across undergraduate and postgraduate occupational therapy programmes, with responsibilities spanning occupational science, mental health practice, professional reasoning, research methods and evidence-based practice. I lead final-year evidence-based practice teaching and supervise MSc dissertation students.
As Director of Studies, I work with colleagues on the design, delivery and continuing development of the BSc curriculum. I am currently co-leading programme revalidation and have previously contributed to the development of new modules, simulated placements and blended practice learning. I also provide academic advice to students and contribute to interprofessional learning across the School.
My teaching draws on my clinical experience in mental health services and my continuing work with practising occupational therapists. I use these connections to help students relate academic concepts to assessment, decision-making and the experiences of people using services.
