About
I am a Senior Lecturer in Occupational Therapy and Director of Studies for the BSc Occupational Therapy programme at the University of Liverpool. I joined the University in 2018 after working in adult inpatient mental health services, including rehabilitation and secure forensic settings in the NHS and independent sector. I previously held the role of Lead Occupational Therapist within Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust’s Secure Division.
As Director of Studies, I provide academic and operational leadership for the BSc programme, working with students, module leads and practice partners on curriculum development, programme quality and the student experience. My earlier roles in admissions and practice education have given me experience across the full student journey, from recruitment to preparation for professional practice.
I also lead the Faculty’s interprofessional student Schwartz Rounds and serve as Learning and Development Lead for the Royal College of Occupational Therapists’ Mental Health Network. These roles reflect my interests in reflective practice, professional development and the relationship between education and clinical care. I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and my collaborative educational work has been recognised through two Advance HE Collaborative Awards for Teaching Excellence.
