Journals include: most Elsevier hybrid journals, including those published by the Lancet and Cell Press (note however, that review articles are exempt from the deal in some Lancet and Cell Press titles).

Instructions for authors: ensure that you use your University of Liverpool email address and enter University of Liverpool as your affiliation. You are also required to enter the name of your funder(s) or specifically note there was no external funding.

When presented with the choice of licence, you must select “CC-BY”; if you select any other licence we will not be able to approve the publication and you will become liable for paying for open access.

Note that this deal also provides authors with a 15% discount on articles in Elsevier’s fully gold open access journals. For these journals you must complete a Gold open access payment request before submitting to the journal.
