Congratulations to Dr Salma Raheem, Lecturer in HR Management and Organisational Behaviour, whose paper recently won the Academy of International Business (AIB) Insights Award for Actionable Insights at the recent AIB Conference in Warsaw, Poland which was attended by over 1,000 delegates.

Co-authored with Davina E. Vora, State University of New York at New Paltz, the award-winning paper is titled Creating Inclusive Spaces Through Multiculturalism and Positive Leadership. The paper explores that while on average multicultural individuals are likely to engage in positive leadership across cultures, there are individual-, dyadic-, team-, organizational-, and national-level factors that moderate this relationship.

Commenting on the award, Dr Salma Raheem said: "I'm absolutely thrilled to receive the AIB Insights Award for Best Paper at the Academy of International Business 2023 Conference.

“The AIB Insights journal publishes actionable, thought-provoking research that can be used by both academics and practitioners and the award is chosen from all competitive papers submitted to the AIB Conference.

“I'm really happy that the research has been recognised as bringing value to organisations as well as in advancing research in the area of multiculturalism especially as it contributes to the international business research on diversity and inclusion, which is a topic I am really passionate about."
