Students take part in IBM Research UK's AI Summer Challenge

Students from the Management School, Department of Computer Science and Department of Electrical Engineering and Electronics are taking part in a challenge run by IBM.

The challenge is focused around Artificial Intelligence (AI) and involves students working in multi-disciplinary teams to address a problem.  They have eight weeks to put together their recommendations during which time they will have academic support.

The challenge will conclude on Monday 12th August when participants will pitch their ideas in a final presentation.

Dr Edward Pyzer-Knapp, Research Lead, Machine Learning and AI
IBM Research UK, said “It’s important for this Challenge that the teams are multi-disciplinary meaning that not only are students learning about AI, they also get the opportunity to develop some of the soft skills that employers look for.  These include networking and communicating with people who have different strengths and perspectives.

We are looking forward to seeing what the teams come up with at the end of the challenge in August.”
