Esraa Tarawneh, PhD

Esraa Tarawneh is an Assistant Professor of Water and Environmental Engineering at Mutah University. Besides teaching and supervising , Esraa is also the PI of various capacity building and scientific projects concerning water scarcity and climate change, which pose significant challenges to the development of numerous regions globally.

She holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and a Master's degree in Water and Environmental Engineering, both from Mutah University, as well as a PhD in Water and Environmental Engineering from Liverpool University (2017). Esraa attributes her professional development to the University of Liverpool, stating it sharpened her research skills, prepared her to work in multi-disciplinary settings and helped her study complicated environmental scenarios and search for sustainable solutions.

Esraa is dedicated to addressing crucial water and environmental issues, as evidenced by her academic focus in her MSc and PhD theses. In her role as a professor, she teaches a variety of courses and has received various training certifications in water, environmental issues, and sustainability. She has also been recognized for her contributions to the field through her participation in international scientific conferences and the receipt of prestigious grants and awards, including the Fulbright JDFP.

Esraa is currently working with partners from multiple countries to investigate water security, climate change, and the sustainability of resources in arid areas.
