Information for Healthcare Professionals: PPROM 16+0 to 22+6 weeks' gestation
PPROM information for healthcare professionals
A population-based UK study of 364 women with early Preterm Prelabour Rupture of Membranes (PPROM). Conducted September 2019 - March 2021
Important Considerations
Severe morbidity was defined as requiring oxygen at 36 weeks postmenstrual age or intraventricular harmorrhage grades 3 or 4 (long terms disability is hard to predict from this data)
At the time of the study there were no national best practice recommendations to guide care of women with early PPROM under 23 weeks gestation (future improvements in care could alter outcomes).
Detailed data is available by gestational age at early PPROM in the full paper. You can access this information here.
