By title I am a 'lecturer in Black British history', but my teaching focuses on much broader histories of society and culture in Britain from 1945, with the following specialisms:

- social democracy and neoliberalism in Britain;
- postcolonial approaches to history;
- gender and sexuality in Britain after 1945;
- policing and police brutality;
- the welfare state;
- decolonisation;
- working with personal testimonies (PGT);
