Dr Alex Buchanan BA (hons), MSc, PhD, Dip. Arch & RM, FSA

Reader in Archive Studies History

    Teaching

My archival teaching interests relate primarily to the theory and practice of record creation, keeping and use over time, from early modern English palaeography and diplomatic to community archives, and to the theory and practice of resource discovery and collections care.

I also teach classes on architectural history, specifically using archives for architectural research, and on medieval and nineteenth-century architecture in the local area.
