Military history coup for Liverpool historian
Professor Charles Esdaile has just been elected President of the British Commission for Military History which promotes the study of military history by bringing together academic, popular and military historians.
Prof Esdaile, who specialises in studying the Napoleonic Wars, aims to use his position both to continue raising the standards of the British Journal for Military History and to encourage greater recognition of military history in the academic world.
