Historic Libraries in the Digital Age (26 May 2014)

Published on

The AHRC-funded international research network 'Community Libraries', led by the University of Liverpool's Mark Towsey, convenes in Chicago from 30 May to 2 June 2014. The network's second colloquium, 'Digital Approaches to Library History', brings together some of the world's leading book historians to consider the digital future of library history, thinking about how digital applications are changing the way scholars understand analogue sources such as library catalogues, borrowing registers, subscription lists, and surviving books, and considering the opportunities and challenges that come with this new way of analysing and interpreting the history of libraries.

For further information on the network, see the project website at http://www.communitylibraries.net/ or email towsey@liverpool.ac.uk.
