Dr Mark Towsey to visit the Université Paris Diderot

Dr Mark Towsey, Lecturer in Modern British History, will be visiting Paris in April 2014 on an Erasmus Faculty Exchange, teaching sessions on intellectual history, the history of reading, and the comparative history of Empires, as well as giving a research paper on the cultural history of libraries in the Atlantic World.

The aim of the trip is to develop further research and teaching collaborations between the University of Liverpool’s Eighteenth-Century Worlds Research Centre and the Institut Charles V (UFR Etudes Anglophones), to enhance the existing Erasmus student exchange programme in place between the two groups at MA level, and to gain insights into methods of teaching in French higher education.
