Director of the Heseltine Institute, Professor Mark Boyle, has this week published on the influential URBACT blog a piece summarising our recent report for the Liverpool City Region Year of the Environment.

Released ahead of the city region’s first ever Environmental Summit, Towards a Green Future for Liverpool City Region sets out the scale of the challenges facing Liverpool City Region as it looks to respond to the climate and ecological emergency – highlighting best practice examples from across the city region, whilst at the same time suggesting potential means to scale up and accelerate local efforts to protect the environment.

URBACT is a leading European forum for debate around sustainable urban development. As Professor Boyle writes, there are concrete examples of practice from around Europe which might prove instructive in the case of Liverpool City Region. Yet so too are there examples from Liverpool City Region from which other cities and city regions from around Europe might learn.
