Please join us in person for this historic event as we live stream Professor Lesley Lokko’s Lecture, together with introductions from Muyiwa Oki, RIBA President, and Professor Ola Uduku, Head of Liverpool School of Architecture, straight into Reilly Lecture Room from the Leggate Theatre.

Hosted by LSA, RIBA, and the Liverpool School of Architecture Society (ASoc).

"Validation comes in many guises - from professional validation of competency to personal affirmations of worth. Social media has turned it into an art form, but there’s no substitute for the validation of one’s peers. It’s a critical and necessary part of growth, not to be confused with approval." - Prof Lokko. The RIBA 100 Years of Validation lecture will look at validation - particularly educational validation - through the lens of wider paradigm shifts, particularly those that have occurred over the last thirty years.

Professor Lesley Lokko, recipient of the 2024 Royal Gold Medal for architecture, founder of the African Futures Institute, curator of the 2023 Venice Architecture Biennale and recipient of the 2020 Annie Spink Award for excellence in architectural education.
