The lecture will focus of the praxis of Jonathan Tuckey Design, examined through the lens of testing through models, prototyping and metaphors. The use of models of varying scales and types is an inherent part of the practices working methods and output. The talk will elaborate on these processes and discuss how more abstract references and the use of metaphor are important in the practice’s work.

Biography

Rob Leechmere is an Associate Architect at Jonathan Tuckey Design.

He completed his undergraduate degree from the University of Liverpool and joined the practice following his Diploma at the CASS School of Architecture. (London Metropolitan University )

His work focusses mainly on the interpretation of traditional vernaculars and construction types in a modern context.

He has a keen interest in the Amsterdam School and Brick Expressionism.

Whilst at the practice he has been Project Architect on numerous projects including Horris Hill Theatre, The Michelberger Hotel and Upper Wimpole Street.
