On Wednesday 11th October, the LIV.DAT Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) researcher fellows attended a kickoff meeting. After brief round-the-table introductions, the CDT Director Carsten Welsch welcomed everyone and introduced the CDT, describing the aims and philosophies that underpin the Centre, and how it will enhance traditional doctoral training. Aspects discussed included academic and placement supervision, mentoring and project management.

Training Co-ordinator Laura Harkness-Brennan detailed training courses and programmes that would be available to the fellows, including MSc modules offered both by LJMU and Liverpool and bespoke training events and opportunities in Cardiff, Munich, Liverpool and Daresbury that would be available to all the fellows.

Finally, CDT Deputy Director David Hutchcroft brought the meeting to a close, thanking everyone for their comments, questions and wishing everyone the best of luck!
