QUASAR Group Reaches Out
Last week QUASARs promoted the group’s research results and international lead role in researcher training both to industry and to higher education. On Wednesday June 25th Dr. Rob Ashworth, Rita Galan and Helen Williams maintained two stands at Physics Innovate – the University of Liverpool’s contribution to the city’s Business Week. They presented R&D results within the oPAC and LA³NET networks, the QUASAR Group and the Cockcroft Institute. There was a good turnout for the event with plenty of representatives from industry. The event also featured a fascinating range of talks on the emerging practical applications from physics research held in the opulent Liverpool Town Hall Chambers.
On Thursday June 26th Dr. Ashworth and Rita Galan attended the University of Liverpool's Learning & Teaching Conference contributing talks about the advantages of training at post graduate level within European networks and a new researcher skills training concept that has been developed by the group over the past five years. This was a highly useful day in sharing knowledge to maintain training at the highest possible level in line with current thinking on the best approach.
