QUASARs @ IPAC

The QUASAR Group has made a number of contributions to the 5th International Particle Accelerator Conference IPAC’14 which took place at the International Congress Center Dresden, Germany, between June 15 - 20, 2014. This conference has been held consecutively in Asia, Europe and North America since 2010, and combines the previous continental conferences. This was the second IPAC to be held in Europe.

Contributions focused on R&D in the area of beam instrumentation and beam dynamics with papers covering e.g. first measurements with a gas jet-based beam profile monitor, as well as the VELO detector at Clatterbridge, studies into beam stability and life time at the ELENA ring and the design of low energy beam lines. Moreover, the Group hosted a stand presenting initial results from the Marie Curie Initial Training Networks oPAC and LA³NET and highlighting future workshops, schools and conferences that will be organized for the wider accelerator community.

The conference was an ideal place for discussing the state-of-the-art in all areas of QUASAR research and to meet friends from all over the world.
