Prof. Carsten Welsch presented a summary of the research achievements of the Liverpool Accelerator Physics group at the annual HEP group Christmas meeting on December 18th.

An extraordinary year lies behind the Cockcroft Institute and in particular the QUASAR Group. Prof. Welsch talked about our results from designing next generation antimatter research facilities, latest developments and beam instrumentation, our measurements at the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre and our new initiatives, oPAC and LA³NET.

He also summarized the three completed QUASAR PhD projects of Adam, Tobias and Massimiliano and presented our new research initiatives in proton-driven plasma wakefield acceleration and in-depth studies into SiPM technology.
