One more Research Associate joins the QUASAR Group
We are pleased to welcome Dr Emilia Cruz Alaniz to the QUASAR Group. She will be based at CERN and focus on the study of the feasibility of crab cavities for the HL-LHC project.
Emilia is originally from Mexico. She studied her bachelor and master degree in Physics at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) where she focussed her research in high-energy physics working for the CREAM (Cosmic Ray Energetics and Mass) project and the ALICE experiment at CERN. She then continued her studies doing a PhD in accelerator Physics at the University of Liverpool and the Cockcroft Institute as part of the oPAC (Optimization of Particle Accelerators) Marie Curie Fellowship where she worked for two possible upgrades of the LHC: the LHeC and HL-LHC.
After her PhD she moved to the University of Oxford and the John Adams Institute contributing to the design of the Future Circular Collider (FCC) study, focussing on lattice design and stability studies.
Emilia joined the QUASARs in March 2019 and we look forward to working with her.
