Professor Rebecca Harris, Oral Health Services and IPHS Athena SWAN lead said: “Striving for equal opportunity is something which is naturally aligned with IPHS values. Staff across the Institute have therefore been delighted that our efforts in relation to Athena SWAN activity were recognised with a silver award.

“We have a Self Assessment Team at the Institute, which is representative of all types of staff and students, from PhD students to Heads of Departments, and so I’d like to thank them for all their help and support in putting the silver award application together.

“We are already moving forward with a number of initiatives such as mentoring support for contract researchers, building on the enthusiasm generated by the Athena SWAN process.”
