Key Digital Platforms
These are the key platforms and services for your student life at the University of Liverpool.
University email
You will be given an official @liverpool.ac.uk email address that is hosted on Outlook. This is how you will be contacted for all communications from the University, and can be used for other things, like accessing student discounts!
Once you have activated your IT (MWS) account, please allow 24 hours for your email account to be ready for use.
My Liverpool Portal
My Liverpool is your student portal. Through My Liverpool you can access all the services you need, such as:
- Timetable
- Modules and assignments
- Printing account
- Library record
Get started with the My Liverpool, once you've activated your IT (MWS) account by visiting my.liverpool.ac.uk using any web browser.
My Liverpool App
My Liverpool App is the official University of Liverpool app, providing everything you need to live and learn on campus, working alongside the My Liverpool Portal.
From events to FAQs and your digital Library ID, kickstart your student experience by downloading My Liverpool from the App or Play Store.
OneDrive
Once you have activated your IT account you will have access to your University OneDrive for Business file storage space. This is part of the Office 365 offering which is available to all students.
You should save your files to your OneDrive so that they are available from anywhere, on any device at any time, secure and regularly backed up.
Canvas
Canvas is the University of Liverpool’s virtual learning environment, or VLE, where departments share course materials and host other study resources, assessments can be submitted and collaborative activities, such as discussion boards and group projects, can take place.
Once you have activated your account, you can log in to Canvas. You can access Canvas from the My Liverpool home page or by visiting https://canvas.liverpool.ac.uk/.
IT Self-Service Portal
The IT Services Self-Service Portal is the University of Liverpool’s online platform for getting IT support. You can use it to report issues, request help, and find answers to common tech questions all in one place, anytime you need it.
The University Library
The University of Liverpool Library website will support your learning throughout your time at university and make sure that you get the most out of the resources and services available to you. They provide you with access to books, journals and databases, study spaces, workshops and tutorials to improve academic skills and subject specific support from Liaison Librarians.
Printing
Learn everything you need to know about printing, including how to submit print jobs, manage your print credit and learn more about our specialised printing services.
PC Finder
If you're looking for a free PC on campus to use, use the PC Finder tool and save time. PC Finder will help you to locate a PC on campus and you can filter results based on installed software that you might want to use or even PCs which are adjacent so that you can work next to a friend.
Handshake
Handshake is the University of Liverpool’s dedicated careers platform, designed to help you find part-time jobs, internships, placements, and graduate roles from employers who want to recruit Liverpool students.
It also gives you access to exclusive careers events, employer chats, and a library of resources to support your job applications and career planning
Liverpool Guild of Students
The Liverpool Guild of Students is the University’s student union, and you automatically become a member when you start your studies.
It’s a student-led space offering over 200 societies, volunteering opportunities, advice services, events, and ways to get involved and make your voice heard.
Note: Access to create a Liverpool Guild of Students account may be delayed. Please create a guest account if you wish to access their site’s services soon after activating your IT (MWS) account.
