In 2021, The University of Liverpool and McMaster University signed a Framework Agreement for International Collaboration in education and research to support the development of a broad based education and research partnership. Initially this has led to undergraduate and post-graduate student exchange with the University of Liverpool’s School of Law and Social Justice and McMaster’s social science departments as well as with between the respective Geography Departments.
In 2022 the President of McMaster University Canada, Professor David Farrar and Anthony Hollander, Pro-Vice Chancellor for Research and Impact signed a Memorandum of Understanding for greater collaboration between McMaster’s Global Nexus and Liverpool’s Pandemic Institute. Health, Medicine and Life Sciences are significant strengths of each university and it is planned to develop strategic collaboration in these areas through pump priming and fellowships at PhD level.
