Deputy Director of the Heseltine Institute appointed

Sue Jarvis, Deputy Director, The Heseltine Institute for Public Policy, Practice and Place
The Heseltine Institute for Public Policy, Practice and Place is pleased to announce the appointment of Sue Jarvis as Deputy Director.
Sue joins the Institute in May from the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority and has a background in research and policy development. She has undertaken a prominent role over the last decade working across the public and private sectors, and leading the development of policy and programmes in the Liverpool City Region, including leading negotiations with Government on employment and skills for the 2008 Multi Area Agreement, establishing a multi-agency Child Poverty and Life Chances Commission in 2010, developing the Liverpool City Region Deal in 2012, leading the strategic governance review to establish the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority in 2014 and negotiating the skills aspects of the 2015 Devolution Deal, including devolution of the £51m Adult Education Budget.

The Heseltine Institute for Public Policy and Practice is an interdisciplinary research centre focusing on a crucial contemporary challenge: the development of successful, sustainable and inclusive places in an unstable global world. The Institute provides a forum to connect citizens, practitioners, policy-makers and researchers and brings together academic expertise from across the University to examine, debate and discuss critical questions facing societies across the globe.
