Khalida Suleymanova
(MBA Business Finance and Management 2010)
Khalida Suleymanova is a graduate consultant at
ARMSA Consulting, a professional services firm
specialising in high risk/consequence industries
such as the power and petrochemical sectors.
Why did you choose to study at the University
of Liverpool?
It was a combination of factors - I liked the idea of
studying in Liverpool and the MBA Business Finance
and Management course offered a great platform to
enable me to build on my existing knowledge. It was a
very well structured programme with enough flexibility
to focus on the subjects that interested me most.
As part of your course you completed a work
placement at your present company; how valuable
was that experience?
Extremely valuable. It allowed me to apply and test the
theories I had been taught during my course and
helped me to develop a deeper understanding of my
specific research topic - international marketing of
consultancy and training services.
What other activities did you participate in when you
were at the School?
I attended most of the speaker series and various
workshops and found them to be really inspirational.
The speakers clearly had a strong belief in what they
did and I am now trying to apply the same level of
enthusiasm and effort in my own day-to-day working
practices.
What sort of projects have you been involved in
since you started your current role?
I have recently helped to develop a new training course
called Managing Safety for Wind Power, which is the
first of its kind in the sector and has now received
accreditation by the Institute of Occupational Safety
and Health. I have also been involved in some
competency and retirement profile analysis for a coal-
fired power station, and have worked on training needs
identification and analysis at EDF, one of the largest
energy suppliers in the country.
