Investigating the ongoing eruption of Mount Etna

A NERC Urgency Grant has been awarded to our department’s Dr. Silvio De Angelis to study the ongoing eruption at Mount Etna, Italy. The project aims to develop new methods to evaluate eruption intensity from seismic and acoustic signals. The overarching goal is to deliver tools for real-time volcano monitoring at Mt. Etna and other volcanoes worldwide.
