Dr Amy Chadwick, a Lecturer in Pharmcology at the University of Liverpool and a researcher at the MRC Centre for Drug Safety Science, recently visited Mendell Primary School, in Bromborough, Wirral, for their science careers fair entitled "Primary Futures".

Amy told us: "I had the chance to talk to pupils from Y1 up to Y6 about what it’s like being a Drug Safety Scientist. I was able to tell the pupils how we use science to make safe medicines by targeting therapy.

"There was a fun activity for the children to see this in action using a football to knock down the “bad guys” vs a super-focussed nerff gun!

"It was a fantastic afternoon and I really enjoyed listening to the children’s ideas about how to make medicines safer and trying to answer all of their amazing questions about what it’s like being a scientist."
