Our Employer in Residence programme gives you the opportunity to spend focused time on campus engaging with motivated students who are actively exploring their career options. Across half a day, you can promote your opportunities, deliver interactive activities, and hold in-depth conversations that help students understand your organisation and what you offer.
What is Employer in Residence?
Employer in Residence allows your organisation to come onto campus (typically 11am–3pm) to promote your vacancies, highlight your culture, and connect with students in a more personalised setting. You can run an interactive installation to attract attention, host a workshop on a topic of your choice, or combine both approaches to create a dynamic on-campus presence.
This flexible format allows you to shape the focus of your engagement—whether that’s offering career advice, showcasing live opportunities, sharing insights into your sector, or delivering hands-on activities that help students build skills.
Why take part
With so many opportunities available to students, it can be difficult for employers to stand out. Employer in Residence enables you to create meaningful, face-to-face interactions that capture student interest and build recognition for your organisation.
Taking part gives you the chance to:
- Connect with students at scale
- Benefit from quick, meaningful interactions
- Increase brand visibility and exposure
- Build valuable face-to-face connections
- Access a diverse talent pool from across the University
Workshops and interactive sessions also enable students to improve their skills and gain a deeper understanding of your roles, pathways, and culture.
What you can bring to campus
An interactive installation provides an excellent way to showcase your organisation’s personality, values, and working environment. Past installations have included free waffle giveaways, spin-the-wheel games, prize giveaways, and “crack the code” problem-solving activities that attract students and create a buzz on campus.
These interactive elements naturally lead into deeper conversations about your live roles, career pathways, development opportunities, and what makes your organisation a great place to work.
Who should attend
We encourage employers to bring representatives who reflect the diversity of your workforce, ensuring our students connect with relatable role models and understand the breadth of opportunities available.
Events are most successful when your team members are proactive, engaging, and ready to speak confidently about your organisation. Students particularly enjoy hearing from recent graduates and placement students, so we recommend involving them where possible.
A blended approach to engagement
Employer in Residence is part of a wider suite of employer engagement activity at the University of Liverpool. Together with our large-scale careers fairs, part-time job fairs, and flagship Lead Liverpool Conference, it provides a mix of high-volume exposure and more intimate, focused engagement. This blended offer ensures you can reach thousands of students at scale while also having space for deeper conversations that support authentic, long-term recruitment outcomes.
If you’d like to take part in Employer in Residence, please get in touch and we will discuss suitable dates and how to make the most of your time on campus.
