RSA Insurance Group now operates a preferred network of referral centres across the UK. The changes made to their terms and conditions relating to veterinary referrals for their policyholders, means that clients who are or wish to be referred to a hospital that is not part of the RSA Referral Vet Network scheme for non-emergency treatment may be charged a £200 excess.

Some of you have queried how the proposed change to RSA underwritten policies will affect our referral process. We would like to assure you that there will be no changes at all in our current process. We understand that the policy changes only affect More Than, Tesco and Argos pet insurance holders. We understand that Marks & Spencer or John Lewis pet insurance holders, although underwritten by the RSA will not be charged as they opted out of the scheme.

We believe that we have a special relationship with our referring vets and our aim is to continue to provide you, our patients and clients with a high standard of clinical care.  Your support in this and the provision of cases for teaching is, and always will be, very gratefully received.

We very much look forward to continuing that relationship.
