Mario Vastano

Mario graduated from the University of Messina (ITA) in 2011 and worked as a mixed vet before moving to South Wales to work as a general practitioner. During this time, he developed an interest in cardiology and began studying towards the certificate in Small Animal Medicine.
In 2022, he moved to Leeds where he undertook a rotating internship at Paragon Referrals and further explored his passion for cardiology. He joined the Small Animal Teaching Hospital’s cardiology team in June 2023 as a cardiology intern and started his residency in Small Animal Cardiology in November 2023. He is currently working towards the certificate in Cardiology at Liverpool University.
