Tickets are now on sale for Liverpool Pint of Science, which will see more than 50 University of Liverpool scientists taking to the stage in local bars to talk about their fascinating research.

Still confused as to what exactly a Bitcoin is? Head down to Leaf on Bold Street, Hus and Dockleaf from 14-16 May to hear talks on this plus everything from the science of gin and tonic, the language of Donald Trump and the rise of the superbugs.

Pint of Science returns to Liverpool for a second year, as part of an international, three-day festival that will see thousands of scientists simultaneously standing up and telling the public about their research in over 100 cities across 12 countries.

Alongside the main talks, each evening will also include a range of science-inspired activities including poetry, quizzes, live experiments and other interactive activities.

Public Engagement Officer Laura Winters, who is coordinating the Liverpool event, said: "We're really excited to take part in the festival again this year and to showcase some of the latest research happening here in Liverpool. We've got a brilliant line up of talks and activities so come join us in the pub and discover some amazing science! "

Tickets are available from the Liverpool Pint of Science website, with each evening costing only £4.

Liverpool Pint of Science is part of the University’s Open House 2018 - a five-day festival of talks, performances, exhibitions and interactive experiences taking place from 14-18 May showcasing great ideas, knowledge and culture.
