James Byrne & Alvin Pang

Beginning the Port of Call Lecture Series in March 2013 were the two innovative poets, James Byrne and Alvin Pang. Recordings of their readings, and their introduction by Sandeep Parmar, can be found below. 


James Byrne

 

James Byrne is the author of four poetry collections, and editor of The Wolf magazine, as well as the  co-editor and co-translator of Bone Will Crow:15 Contemporary Burmese Poets. He was the poet in residence at Clare Hall, Cambridge University and is currently a Lecturer at Edge Hill University. His latest collection, White Coins, was released in 2015. 


Alvin Pang

 

Alvin Pang is a poet, editor and transloator originally from Singapore. He is also the founder and coordinator of 'WORDFEAST 2004', Singapore's first international poetry festival.  He has published six volumes of his own poetry, as well as editing or co-editing six anthologies, largely focusing upon poetry from Singapore.
