A team of talented postgraduate students from the Management School has taken first place at the 2025 UBC Global Masters Postgraduate Business Challenge. The final took place at the University of Sheffield on Friday 2nd May, bringing together top teams from leading universities for a series of strategic and creative business tasks.
The UBC Global Masters Challenge is an internationally recognised competition designed to test the students ability to respond to business scenarios in a competitive environment. The competition had two rounds. In the first round, university teams take on the role of company directors managing a sustainable sandal company across five trading periods via an online simulation. The highest performing teams progress to the live final.
This year’s final featured a fresh business simulation where teams ran a juice bar throughout the day. In addition to this, finalists took on creative challenges including designing a new product and advertisement, as well as a networking challenge.
The Liverpool team impressed judges with their sharp analytical skills, teamwork, and calm decision making under pressure. The winning team consisted of Rosie Nguyen, Nabu Wen, Yen Van Trinh, Lu Hanh Nguyen Tran, and Thien Y Tran – representing postgraduate programmes including Advanced Marketing MSc, Finance and Investment Management MSc, and International Business MSc.
This marks Liverpool’s first victory in the postgraduate competition, following back to back undergraduate wins in 2021 and 2022. As this year’s champions, we are proud to announce that we will host the 2026 final.
Congratulations to Rosie, Nabu, Yen Van, Lu Hanh, and Thien Y on their outstanding achievement!
