Published on

2023 International Business graduate Henry Mort, who recently secured a place the highly competitive JP Morgan graduate scheme, delivered a guest speaker session for current students and recent graduates as part of the monthly online event series ‘Bringing the World to Liverpool’.

During these events, attendees are able to ask speakers questions about their careers and a lot of speakers offer to help students after the event has taken place.

Alumni Engagement Officer, Andy Harrison, commented;

“Events like these have been a great way of connecting our graduates to current students, acting as an inspiration for their potential future careers. We have had a variety of speakers, from multinational CEOs to recent graduates just starting on their career path, all of whom have shared great stories and advice.”

Nicky Blouri, who is studying Accounting and Finance commented on how this session has offered helpful insight and advice, as a current student;

“One thing that really stood out to me, was to do the things you don’t want to do. As a student, doing a mock interview or attending networking events is probably not at the top of your list of priorities. However, it is skills such as these that often make a big difference in whether or not you secure that graduate role that you want.”

If you are interested in studying with us, events like these are just one aspect of the wide range of support in place. As a student, there are many extra opportunities to develop a range of skills from, CV writing, networking at guest speaker events, attending mock assessment centres and career fairs.
