Dhruv Saini: My recent postgraduate trip to London

Published on

Dhruv Saini is currently studying for a Master in Management (MiM) postgraduate degree at the University of Liverpool Management School.

Dhruv, alongside his MiM and MSc Finance peers, recently embarked on a two-day field trip to London in July organised by Dr Michalis Stamatogiannis, Senior Lecturer in Finance, and Dr Ming (Lily) Li, Senior Lecturer in International Human Resource Management.

Not only did this study trip expand Dhruv’s academic horizons and provide him with diverse perspectives, but it was also Dhruv’s first visit to the capital!

Take a look as he details his experiences below:

Day one:

Day one started with an electrifying talk on Lateral Thinking and Innovation, presented by Paul Sloane.

With Paul’s captivating wisdom, he taught us the power of asking childlike questions and how these can lead to ground-breaking innovations.

Moreover, he challenged our minds with his Lateral Thinking quiz, and guess what? I won that quiz, receiving a signed copy of his book, "Lateral Thinking for Everyday"!

I can't wait to dive into its pages and unleash the magic of innovation within. I will drop the review after I finish reading it!

Day two:

On day two, my peers and I were captivated by the extraordinary visit to Transmission: a business-to-business (B2B) marketing solutions agency where creativity and collaboration thrived in their vibrant office space.

From the moment we stepped inside, a contagious entrepreneurial spirit enveloped us, fuelling our curiosity and igniting our passion.

Elizabeth Marriott, the Associate Marketing Director at Transmission, warmly welcomed us and shared priceless insights into their innovative approach to B2B marketing.

The experience was nothing short of mind-blowing as we witnessed first-hand how the agency was able to leverage technology and data-driven strategies to optimise customer experiences and drive exponential business growth.

Transmission’s success story has become a guiding light to me, inspiring me to push my limits and embrace boundless opportunities in my journey as a marketing professional.

Reflecting on my trip to London, it has proved to be a pivotal milestone in my personal and professional development, and I look forward to sharing more amazing experiences with all of you.
