Centre for Sustainable Business host their first summer conference

The Management School's Centre for Sustainable Business hosted its first in-person summer conference on Wednesday 28 June 2023.

Hosted by Professor Joanne Meehan, the Centre’s Director, the one-day interactive conference brought together the latest research evidence from the Centre for Sustainable Business (CSB), with the practical experience from business leaders on the potential of a 'purpose-led' organisation model for addressing sustainability challenges successfully and realistically.

Designed around action and the sharing of expertise, the conference aimed to inspire practical takeaways for businesses aspiring to become a force for good in protecting our planet and its people.

The conference gave attendees the opportunity to network with academic experts and business leaders, but also to receive practical advice from our themed Business Clinics on the potential for implementing a purpose-led approach in your organisation.

Delegates also had the opportunity to attend our themes Business Clinics and roundtable discussions, led by the CSB Advisory Board representatives.

The conference hosted several keynote speaker sessions by research experts and business leaders from organisations, such as John Lewis Partnership and Balfour Beatty Vinci, who offered different perspectives on the ‘purpose-led’ approach to sustainability.

The conference concluded with an interactive workshop session from the student theatre group ‘Tenderfoot Theatre’ on the theme “Business Reimagined”.
