The Complete University Guide 2024 League Tables

The 2024 Complete University Guide (CUG) undergraduate league tables were recently released and the University maintained a very healthy Q1 sector ranking.

All programmes have benefitted from the excellent REF 2021 scores and, pleasingly, student satisfaction remains a real area of strength for ULMS. An area which continues to be targeted for improvement is graduate prospects and there is already some fantastic work underway to facilitate this, both at school level and from the university careers team.

At subject-level, league table positions are determined by factors related to entry standards, student satisfaction, research quality, continuation and graduate prospects, there were several notable highlights for ULMS subject areas:

Marketing:

An excellent set of results for Marketing, which moved up two places in the overall sector rankings to 9th. Marketing also moved up one place in the overall Russell Group (RG) rankings to 5th and is also now ranked 2nd in the RG for student satisfaction.

Accounting and Finance:

Another very solid set of results for Accounting and Finance which maintained an overall sector ranking of 15th and an overall RG ranking of 11th. ACFI is ranked 3rd in the RG for student satisfaction.

Business and Management:

Business Management had a small drop in the overall rankings of two places to 27th, however, Business Management still remains in Q1 for the sector.

Economics:

Economics dropped 9 places down to 27th in the overall rankings. With respect to student satisfaction, Economics ranks a very creditable 6th in the RG.

Commenting on the league table results Nick Drape, Deputy Associate Dean Undergraduate, said: “A big thank you to everyone who has contributed to the undergraduate programmes, which is essentially everyone across the school! A huge amount of hard work goes into achieving these results. You can find the CUG league tables here if you wish to dig deeper into the rankings.

"We also look forward to the summer when the National Student Survey results will be released in addition to the Times and Guardian league tables."
