Brett Centre for Entrepreneurship Launches Workshop Series
The Brett Centre for Entrepreneurship brought together over 30 delegates and speakers for its first workshop to consider the challenges and policy opportunities for youth entrepreneurship on Wednesday 22 March at the Management School.
The event was opened with a plenary by David Halabisky, from the OECD, followed by presentations from Professor Francisco Liñán, University of Seville, Dr. Annie Tubadji, Swansea University, Dr. Darrell Kofkin, University of Westminster, and Professor Diane Holt, University of Leeds.
The event was attended by leading academics, practitioners, and entrepreneurs who contributed to the stimulating debates and discussions. This is the first of three workshops, with subsequent events to be held in London and Paris. The outcome of the workshops will be a policy paper published by the Centre with the OECD.
Commenting on the success of the event Professor Rob Blackburn, Professor of Entrepreneurship, said: "Colleagues and I were delighted to launch the Brett Centre for Entrepreneurship’s workshop series on youth entrepreneurship policy here in the Management School.
"The idea is to consider the challenges facing young entrepreneurs and think through how policies may help. We attracted a variety of delegates, from international experts to grass-roots businesses run by young people. Together with the deliberations from the next two workshops, we will be producing a paper on the future of youth entrepreneurship policy, its gaps, and ways forward".
