Kick It Out Scholarship application window extended

In November 2021, the University of Liverpool’s Management School announced its partnership with Sky and Kick It Out as they launched the Kick It Out Scholarship Programme.

As part of the programme four scholarships will be given to Football Industries MBA offer holders from under-represented ethnic groups in 2022/23 as a way to increase off-field representation and in particular improve diverse representation at senior positions in the football industries.

The original closing date for the Kick It Out scholarship was March but the Management School, Sky and Kick It Out have now extended this to Sunday 1 May 2022 giving applicants who meet the eligibility criteria an extra month to submit their application. Students who meet the criteria should declare their interest in the scholarship when applying for the Football Industries MBA Programme as part of their personal statement.

As well as fully funding the four applicants’ tuition fees (£25,000 per year), Sky will also twin the scholars with prominent mentors in the football industry and Sky’s Diversity Advisory Council relevant to their focus of study. This is in addition to Sky Sports and Kick it Out using their extensive network in the football industries to help to accelerate the most talented individual’s’ careers.

Jack Eatherley, Sky’s Project Lead on Participation Strategy said:

The closing date for applications is Sunday 1 May 2022 and to be eligible for the Kick It Out scholarship, applicants must satisfy all criteria:

  1. Permanently reside in the UK.
  2. You must have been assessed for fee status as a 'home' student, or expect to be assessed as a ‘home student’.
  3. Be applying for the Football Industries MBA programme, to commence study in the 2022-23 academic year.
  4. Be from an under-represented ethnic group.
