Leadership Development programme receives £1million of European funding

A leadership development programme delivered by the University of Liverpool Management School, has been awarded £1million of European funding (ERDF) until 2021.

‘Growth Catalyst’ is an eight-month programme designed to improve the productivity and profitability of small firms in the Liverpool City Region (LCR) area. 

The programme works by developing the leadership abilities, business processes and overall confidence of owner-managers to enable them to implement impactful changes in their business.

Through its ERDF business support programmes, the Management School has successfully helped over 230 small business since 2009. 

Dr Benito Giordano, Senior Lecturer in Innovation Management and one of the leads on the Growth Catalyst programme, commented "European funding has played a crucial role in promoting economic development in the LCR in the last 20 years or so.

The Management School is proud of the role it has played in delivering its ERDF business support programmes for almost 10 years helping to improve the performance of local small firms, enhance individual leadership and management practices and create a durable network of small businesses to strengthen economic development within the LCR entrepreneurial ecosystem."
