The Management School, in partnership with the Federation for Small Businesses, hosted a focus group with members of the Liverpool City Region Business Group Member Forum on Friday 7 June to discuss the Liverpool City Region’s local industrial strategy.   The aim of the strategy is to support future economic development across the Liverpool City Region and it is being developed by the Liverpool Local Enterprise Partnership and the LCR Combined Authority.  The Management School’s Agility Centre has also contributed as one of the key stakeholders.

Professor Andy Lyons, Professor in Operations and Supply Chain Management, welcomed delegates on behalf of the Management School and Dr Aileen Jones, Head of Research at LCR Combined Authority, gave further insight into the background of the strategy and its purpose.   There followed an opportunity for local SMEs to give their views on the strategy and how it could benefit them.

Phil McCabe, Development Manager at Federation for Small Business, said “The focus group has been incredibly useful in gathering opinion from our small businesses about how they could interact with and benefit from local industrial strategy.  The resulting report from the session will help influence policy to support our SME’s going forward.  We’re grateful to the Management School for hosting us.”
