The Language Lounge offers a variety of ways to support your English conversation skills for all University staff and students. The best way to stay informed about events taking place each week is via the Language Lounge English channel on Microsoft Teams.
More information about each of the activities we run can be found below.
English conversation clubs
Every week the Language Lounge runs face-to-face conversation clubs most lunchtimes (usually 12-1pm). These are led by Language Lounge and English Language Centre colleagues and are open to all students and staff. The aim is to enjoy an informal, relaxed conversation and improve your social language skills - you can even bring your lunch!
Find out more on our Teams site.
Conversation one-ones
During Semesters One and Two, the Language Lounge has a team of volunteers offering one-to-one English conversation to students and staff at the University who wish to improve their English-speaking skills. These 30-minute sessions are also a great way to find out more about life in Liverpool from knowledgeable home students!
We publish details of one-to-one availability each week on the Language Lounge Teams page.
Conversation exchange
Join our conversation exchange to practise speaking English informally at a time that suits you. When you join the exchange you will be matched with another person.
