Impact of COVID-19 stressors on mental health and political engagement in the UK

It is well known that the COVID-19 pandemic had a significant impact on mental health in the UK. But how has this affected political engagement? This policy briefing uses results from a series of unique cross-sectional and panel surveys conducted in collaboration with YouGov to explore how COVID-19-related stressors have changed how people feel about and engage with politics. The results raise important questions about the relationship between mental health and political engagement, and what policymakers can do to address the mental health and engagement impacts of future public health challenges.
