The LCR Race Equality Hub is developing a new, strategic approach to address race inequalities in the city-region. Historically, attempts to tackle racism and racial inequalities have been characterised by short-termism, political opportunism and an absence of long-term strategy. This policy briefing outlines the combined authority’s new community-led approach to these issues. The Race Equality Hub is being co-designed and developed by Liverpool City Region’s Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities and is set to open in Autumn 2022.
