Adrian Nolan (Lead Officer for Industrial Strategy) and Tim Jago (Lead Officer for Housing Policy and Strategy) of Liverpool City Region Combined Authority outline how LCR can rebalance and renew its economy through a holistic approach to innovation. By capitalising on existing strengths across industry, academia, arts and culture, and social innovation, the Plan for Prosperity aims to deliver prosperity across the city region. Achieving this will require focus on the foundations of the local economy, investing in skills and infrastructure as well as attracting employers. The policy briefing also details how LCR plans to maximise the opportunities offered by devolution to tackle key challenges such as entrenched deprivation and poor health and wellbeing.
